"The true sand tigers"

Films: Sand Sharks (2012)

Alias: None

Type: Ancient

Location: Ocean/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Up to twice that of average greath whites.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: We've already did a bit of dabbling in land sharks this decade, but we can always do more. A LOT more. This time, we have a whole group of them, and they're specifically evolved for ripping through the sand like it was water. Ironically enough, it's damn close to the water, so it evens out.

History: The beaches of White Sands are in trouble. As the place is just about to open up for tourism, the place is accosted by a whole new species of pseudo-ocean predator. Sharks specifically adapted for hunting on land have awakened, and are eating everyone they can find on the beaches. Only a few people in on the assault can hope to stop it before the body count rises.

Notable Kills: One rams through a pier bridge to get some people.

Final Fate: The sand sharks are burnt to the point where they are encased in glass and killed, but the matriarch shows up not long afterwards. She is killed as well when a napalm-powered flamethrower is tossed into her mouth, blowing her up. However, another sand shark is still at large...

Powers/Abilities: Can burrow through the sand and burst out at great speeds.

Weakness: Extreme heat causes the sand on them to turn into glass, which can entrap and suffocate them. Though heavy artillery does well all the same.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-As usual, cool ideas are squandered by bad CGI, but you have to give them props for at least trying to some capacity here. These sharks not only make both the water and the sand the worst place to be, but they also got some wicked scale-like armor befitting something straight out of the Devonian period. And they get bigger with age too, so watch out!

Trivia: -This film was also known was "Beach Shark".

-In the entire fossil record, there has not been a single shark species that is nearly as armored as these ones. It probably has something to do with how it would impede on their mobility. Besides, their cartilage skin is already like sandpaper anyhow.
